Theresa Layne’s training and experience make her a one-of-a-kind artist and educator for Musical Theatre, Rock, Opera, Shakespeare, Acting and Public Speaking.
Available as: Solo Performer • Drummer • Actor • Session Vocalist • Singing Coach • Acting Coach • Voiceover Artist
Live performance has always been her oxygen.
“When I was a kid, I’d stage full vaudeville shows for the neighbors — costumes, choreography, the whole thing. Somewhere along the way, I realized this wasn’t a phase. It was my life.”
Theresa earned her BFA in Musical Theatre from United States International University and her MFA in Acting from University of Arizona. While still in school, she began performing professionally across the Southwest, appearing at renowned theatres including The Old Globe, Moonlight Amphitheatre, North Coast Repertory Theatre, New Village Arts, Arizona Repertory Theatre, Civic Light Opera of San Bernardino, and Colony Studio Theatre.
After moving to Los Angeles, she joined the Colony Studio Theatre Acting Company and expanded into commercials, voiceovers, television, and film - building a career that spans stage, screen, and studio.
Never content to stay in one lane, Theresa picked up drums and guitar “for fun” - and fun quickly turned into fire. She now performs as a drummer, guitarist, and front woman in multiple bands and projects, including Albright and the Educators, Innuendo, Stan Lin Band, Go Scarlet, In a Tizzy, and Hot Tina.
Alongside her performing career, Theresa has taught theatre and film at College of the Canyons and MiraCosta College, and recently directed Forever Dusty at California State University San Marcos — mentoring the next generation of artists with the same fearless spirit she brings to the stage.
Whether she’s behind a drum kit, center stage under lights, or coaching a singer to unlock their voice, Theresa Layne brings Broadway craft, rock-and-roll grit, and unapologetic heart.
